… at the Johannesburg Cap Classique & Champagne Festival
Some of South Africa’s finest bubbly producers as well French Champagne and Italian Prosecco houses are taking part in the not-to-be-missed Johannesburg Cap Classique & Champagne Festival which takes place on Saturday, April 13 and Sunday, April 14, from 12h00 to 17h00 at the Polo Club at Inanda.
At the festival – sponsored by Sanlam Private Wealth – attendees can taste (and buy) some of this country’s top Méthode Cap Classiques (MCCs), including Genevieve MCC, Krone, Simonsig, Paul René, Black Elephant Vintners, L’Ormarins, Graham Beck, Silverthorn, Pierre Jourdan, Boschendal, Pongracz, Villiera, Bon Courage and Saronsberg.
Those who prefer their bubbles to have a French pedigree can sip on Taittinger, Bollinger, G.H. Mumm, Nicolas Feuillatte or Luc Belaire, while for Prosecco lovers there’s Sartori, Da Luca and Valdo to choose from.
Says organiser Darielle Robertson: “We have really got a fabulous line-up of bubbly brands this year and the list is growing by the day. If you love bubbles then this is the one event you have to attend.
“This year’s festival will have a chic garden party feel with a blue and white dress theme and wonderful prizes for the best-dressed, including magnums of Champagne, fragrance vouchers and much more.”
Live music will come courtesy of the brilliant Veronique Lalouette (who was placed fourth in the third season of M-Net’s Idols competition).
A variety of food stalls will cater for all tastes and will include sushi and oyster stands as well as food trucks serving tacos, burritos, nachos and pizzas, pastry delights such as cronuts, cruffins, macarons for the sweet-toothed and all things coffee from Cafe2Go, the mobile coffee bar.
Tickets for The Johannesburg Cap Classique and Champagne Festival cost R380 per person, for which guests will receive a glass and 10 tasting coupons, and can be purchased via www.webtickets.co.za
